The Indiana University Campus Radio Alumni Association was formed to find and reunite the people who made the creation and survival of IU Campus Radio possible. IUCRAA.org is the home page of this Association, which is dedicated to collecting and sharing the history, images, sounds and memories of Campus Radio at Indiana University, focusing now on the First Decade. It's also your place to reconnect and stay in touch with your once and always friends from your time at the station.

ALUMNI WEEKEND AUG 5-7, 2011

This year's IU Campus Radio on-air alumni weekend set for Friday August the 5th, Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th. As in the past, please let Don or Neil know you will be attending.

Saturday will be a picnic cookout at the station with hot dogs, hamburgers and those famous "Indiana Pork Tenderloins". To complete the picnic, we will have an on-air pool party. So, swim suits will not be required — just bring your best let's have a good time! outfit.

Air shifts are open except for the Scavenger Hunt (which will be on Friday night from 8 to 11 PM) and the All Request Show (Saturday night from 8 PM to Midnight). As in the past, shifts are first come-first served. Let Don or Neil know your first and second preferences.

Rooms at the Indiana Union are NOT available for Saturday night (Aug. 6th) right now, but there are a few rooms still available for Friday night (Aug. 5th). Mention you're attending the IU Campus Radio Alumni Association reunion event. You may contact the IMU directly to reserve a room. For those planning on arriving Friday before 5PM (when on-street parking opens up), let Don Worsham know so that campus parking passes can be provided for the early arrivals.

In station news, the new General Manager for 2011-12 is Andrew Olanoff. Andrew served as Program Director this past school year. Hopefully, he will be with us this August. Retiring GM, Ryan Patena, oversaw updating the air studio with new furniture and ordered a new digital on-air console, which will be installed in time for the Alumni Weekend. Ryan is also planning on attending.

There have been a number of repairs and upgrades done to the station house, including new ceiling tiles and a new front door. Most of the computers at the station were either upgraded or replaced, and a new digital on-air audio processor has been installed. This has tightened up the sound of the station. Streaming audio quality has been improved as well.

We'd love to have as many Campus Radio alums as possible join us this year. So, take a look at your calendar and circle the first weekend in August 2011 to be in Bloomington. See the 2011 Alumni Weekend topic in the Forum for other details, updates and member comments.
