what's newWe've redesigned the Web site, making more information available to you without needing a membership username and password. The photos, air-checks amd other media are moving to the Forum site; if you have not yet registered at the Forum, take a moment to do it now... it's quick and easy, and opens up a world of content. alumni weekend 2008We will be having another alumni broadcast weekend this summer in Bloomington. The date is set for the weekend of August 22-24, 2008. Save some time to join us in Bloomington, get back(?) on the air, or just hang out and catch up. If you cannot be there, plan to listen to the WIUX-FM online stream, and call in to say hi. We mailed a letter in late May announcing this event... if you didn't get it, we may not have your current postal address. Please update your contact info using our Contact Update form. You can view or download the letter here (requires a pdf file viewer). alumni weekend 2007If you were back in Bloomington for the 2007 Alumni Weekend, you know what a good time it was. We celebrated the 40th anniversity of WIUS (which began broadcasting on the 1967 July 4th weekend) with 1967 era air-checks, commercials, The Man From COFFEE, interviews, and music. Craig Shank, WIUX GM, and his staff were great hosts, and kindly handed over control of the WIUX-FM broadcast studio to all of the alums who were eager and/or foolish enough to get back behind the microphone. (Man! Playing cuts from CD's is way harder than playing 45's on turntables!) You can experience a bit of the fun by viewing the photos and listening to air-checks from the weekend, all available in the Forum. 2004 IU Campus Radio ReunionThis was the first reunion event for IU campus radio, the result of a lot of hard work by Jim Hansen and Chris Gazel Ballard, who spent months finding most of the alumni, organizing the reunion, and creating the Indiana University Campus Radio Alumni Association (IUCRAA). Many others contributed with pre-event planning and on-site preparations, and the effort resulted in a very successful event. Photos and stories from the 2004 reunion event can be found in the Forum. IUCRAA LeadershipIn 2007, Jim Hansen handed over the leadership of IUCRAA to the duo of Neil Bolding and Don Worsham. George Powell continues as the financial officer, and Bruce Herrick continues as the webmaster. IUCRAA's charter is to support both the communications and activities of the IU campus radio First Decade alumni group, and the future success of IU campus radio and the students who lead and participate in WIUX-FM. Alumni are encouraged to donate time, experience, expertise, and money to ensure the continued success of campus radio at IU. If you want to contribute, contact Neil or Don via the contact page on this site.
