alumni weekend aug 13-15, 2010

New this year was the Friday night All-Request Oldies Show, hosted by Jerry (Jerry Hill) Hilgenberg, Bill (Bill Berlin) Horn and Mike (Motown) McCarthy.
Featuring:
  - An on-air tribute to the most under-appreciated instrument in rock music!
    (Cow Bell!)
  - The best – correction – the only good song Tommy Roe ever recorded!
    (not Hooray for Hazel)
  - Oldies you haven't heard on the radio in years. And good ones, at that!
How do you beat "I'm Going to Bring a Watermelon to My Girl Tonight"
  - Mike, Jerry, Mike, Bill, Mike and Mike talking over each other!

The WIUS Saturday night Scavenger Hunt was back again this year, anchored in studio by Dave (Little Davey Garth) Whitinger, Phil (Barney Bach) Murphy, Ronney Hignite and the usual cast of characters.

Don outfitted the studio with some retro equipment, including four (count 'em) cart machines. Amazingly, no 'cart farts' were heard.

It was good to see Jasen back for this reunion... caught sweeping the ground floor and steps.

IUCRAA's charter is to support both the communications and activities of the IU campus radio First Decade alumni group, and the future success of IU campus radio and the students who lead and participate in WIUX-FM. Alumni are encouraged to donate time, experience, expertise, and money to ensure the continued success of campus radio at IU. If you want to contribute, contact Neil or Don via the contact page on this site.
